The Department of Kinesiology at San José State University seeks qualified candidates for a full-time Lecturer in Motor Behavior beginning in August of 2022. We highly encourage candidates with specializations in any of the following areas including, but not limited to the following to apply: motor learning, motor development, biomechanics, or measurement and evaluation. The faculty member selected for this position will be required to teach motor learning, motor development, or biomechanics at the undergraduate level and graduate level, and may also have the ability to teach other courses within the undergraduate and general education programs. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels with the potential for teaching excellence in the classroom and through online modalities.

We currently have 20 tenure-track/tenured faculty, serving over 1200 undergraduate and graduate students. We train our students in the areas of exercise physiology, biomechanics, sport history, sport philosophy, sport sociology, teacher education, adapted physical activity/education, measurement and evaluation, motor learning, motor development, and sport psychology, among others. The Department strongly values physical activity, and has a robust activity program offering over 40 different activity classes. Required Qualifications
- Doctorate degree in relevant field.
- Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate classes in motor learning, motor development, biomechanics, and/or measurement and evaluation as well as major classes and/or general education classes as needed.
- Must have academic training grounded in Motor Behavior and/or Biomechanics.
- Applicants should demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population as might have been gained in cross-cultural study, training, teaching, and other comparable experience.
