Job Summary:

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Cleveland State University invites applications for an Assistant College Lecturer position to begin August 19, 2024. CSU is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. CSU is striving to be a nationally recognized and student focused public research institution that provides accessible, affordable, and Engaged Learning opportunities for all.

(AOS) Area of Specialization: Open;

(AOC) Area of Competence: Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science, Technology Ethics, Logic.

Teaching duties will consist of four courses per semester including Data Ethics, Engineering Ethics, Introductory Logic, and/or Health Care Ethics, as well as upper-level courses such as Philosophy of Mind and/or Philosophy of Science. Normal department service. The applicant should speak to their ability to teach these courses in the cover letter.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Philosophy;
Evidence of teaching experience;
Ability to teach Data Ethics and/or Engineering Ethics.
Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Philosophy;
Ability to teach courses in at least one of the following areas: philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, introductory logic, and philosophy of language;
Evidence of teaching achievement, especially with respect to courses such as Data Ethics or Engineering Ethics.
Salary commensurate with qualifications.
