Job Description
The University Libraries at Virginia Tech has a full-time Digital Projects Coordinator available. Virginia Tech Publishing launched in 2017 and currently publishes open access books, journals, digital scholarship, and audiovisual media. The Digital Projects Coordinator will manage and produce digital content and consult with faculty and students on campus. Essential to the position is flexibility with changing technology, clear communication, and the ability to work closely with faculty and students from a wide range of disciplines.
Required Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree with relevant training and or experience or a Master’s degree in library or information science, publishing, or other related field
– Experience with digital scholarship and publishing trends, technologies, and best practices
– Experience using technology to deliver digital content, such as HTML, CSS, XML, and content management systems
– Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate work with faculty, staff, and students across multiple academic departments and colleges
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience with copyediting in scholarly publishing
– Skills in web development and/or programming (any language)
– Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
– Demonstrated experience with digital scholarship projects and working with faculty and/or students
-The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
