Assistant Director of Student Experience – Gies College of Business
Business Online Programs

Job Summary
Provide day-to-day student support for multiple online degree, non-degree, and graduate certificate programs. Ensure operational success of administrative processes such as transition to current learner, student career resources, communications, program growth and engagement, and other administrative functions. Lead communication outreach and transition initiatives that support learner retention.Duties & Responsibilities

Student Outreach, Communication, and Advising

Work closely with Associate Director to manage program initiatives by managing needs, planning, and priorities
Oversee two to three specialists who provide direct support to learners as it relates to communicating, outreach, transition, and co-curricular support
Track and monitor services provided to ensure delivery of high-quality experience for students
Develop cohesive communication strategy to provide outreach and support to all learners in online graduate programs that encompasses email, texting, and social media messaging
Manage all student services program level communications by crafting and timing program-level messages sent out via the CRM system
Advise and assist students with academic, probationary, and financial concerns on possible courses of action and direct students to appropriate campus resources when applicable.
Collaborate with Operations & Engagement teams to ensure all learner events are communicated and maintained on the Online Event Calendar
Support Associate Director in creating and managing initiatives that support success of degree and non-degree learners
Track data of career resource platforms and create strategy to increase learner usage on platforms; work with external vendor and college partners to ensure updates are made regularly on the platform
Identify opportunities for virtual engagement opportunities across current students, alumni, and career networking experiences
Student Transition and Onboarding

Create and deliver New Student Webinars and other onboarding initiatives that support the transition of new learners into online programs
Serve as associate instructor MBA 597: Program Foundations for iDegree learners to support the transition and retention of degree learners; manage regular updates, coordinate curriculum changes, and provide classroom support for all classroom matters
Develop and lead new initiatives that support the onboarding and transition of online learners, including expanding Program Foundations to additional online programs as necessary.
Collaborate with Admissions & Recruitment team to ensure communications and support is streamlined from a learner experience as they transition from admitted to current learner
Minimum Qualifications

Specialty Factors

Bachelor’s degree.

A total of three (3) years (36 months) in work experience in higher education and student services.

Experience working in diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstratable ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively
Excellent communication and writing skills
Must demonstrate a service-oriented attitude working with faculty and students
Working knowledge of computer related databases and office related software
Working knowledge of the University of Illinois

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 – Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 4/30/2024. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. The salary range for this position starts at $55,000.

The work location for this position may be flexible. Highly qualified candidates may be eligible to work full-time remotely within the state of Illinois. on-premise at our offices in Champaign, Illinois, or a combination.
