Job Description

Responsibilities:
The Office of Student Financial Aid is seeking to hire an Associate Director. The Associate Director will oversee the management of the federal student aid application process including, but not limited to the following: importing and exporting of FAFSA results and corrections and all associated review; verifying FAFSA information and communication of requested documents; scanning and maintenance of documents into the electronic imaging system; reviewing requests for special circumstance consideration; reviewing appeals of dependency status; developing and preparing of financial aid packages annually; reviewing and distributing of escalations from the third-party financial aid support center; and overseeing to financial aid education and outreach activities. The Associate Director will supervise five full-time professionals including two Assistant Directors, two Financial Aid Counselors, and an Administrative Assistant.

Required Qualifications:
A relevant bachelor’s degree and a minimum four (4) years of experience in financial aid administration.  A broad knowledge of financial aid rules and regulations.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively oversee staff, communicate with students and families, and handle conflict resolution with sensitivity and professionalism.  Supervisory experience including managing daily activities and responsibilities as well as performing evaluations and providing professional development opportunities required.

Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
