Program Manager, Library, UC Clermont

Job Overview
The Operations Manager plays an important role in managing the daily operations of the library to ensure high quality provision of library services and customer service while reporting to the library director. Programs managed by the Operations Manager include the library student assistant workforce, information desk, inter-library lending, and circulation operations. The position ensures that the Clermont College Library public services operate smoothly, resolves problems before and as they arise, and oversees relevant portions of the budget.

Essential Functions

  • Manage, design, develop, modify and present programs.  Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations.
  • Implement policies and procedures.
  • Maintain budget, prepare contracts, approve and monitor expenditures, prepare budget requests and financial reports.
  • Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities and community organizations.
  • May prepare and edit reports and/or newsletters and develop publication materials.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • Three (3) years of relevant experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Masters of Library and Information Science degree or equivalent.
  • At least one year of library experience with working knowledge of utilizing library databases, catalogs, and library systems.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively across organization lines and in collaboration with a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, service-oriented, rapidly changing environment to accomplish institutional goals.
  • Aptitude for detail-oriented work, including strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, spreadsheet and word processing programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
