Health Behavior and Health Systems (HBHS) is one of two departments in the UNTHSC School of Public Health. The goal of the HBHS department is to help communities and health systems improve policy, management, and public health practice. Graduates of our MPH, MHA, MS and PhD programs assume positions in healthcare, business, human services, research, and academic settings. Our faculty are widely recognized for their innovative teaching and impactful research. Their work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Science Foundation, and other national, state, and local agencies. Faculty are widely published in the areas of disease control, health disparities and equity, women’s and children’s health, participatory research, substance abuse prevention, and online/m-health interventions. HBHS faculty have received national and international awards for their work bridging teaching, research, and practice. The department recognizes the benefits derived from a diverse community of scholars. Minimum Qualifications- Instructor
A master’s degree in health administration, public health (with a focus in health management, administration, or policy), business administration or a closely related field
Enthusiasm for teaching courses that may include health finance, accounting, and economics
Commitment to the education and advancement of students from under-represented minority and/or historically marginalized communities
Minimum Qualifications- Assistant Professor
Terminal degree in a healthcare related field or a graduate degree
Enthusiasm for teaching courses that may include health finance, accounting, and economics
Commitment to the education and advancement of students from under-represented minority and/or historically marginalized communities
Experience with inter-professional/interdisciplinary education or practice
Minimum Qualifications- Associate Professor
Terminal degree in a healthcare related field or a graduate degree
Enthusiasm for teaching courses that may include health finance, accounting, and economics
Commitment to the education and advancement of students from under-represented minority and/or historically marginalized communities
Experience with inter-professional/interdisciplinary education or practice
A strong record of effectively teaching graduate courses in healthcare finance
Developed and delivered challenging course content appropriate for graduate-level study
Consistently implemented strategies that required students to engage in higher-order thinking and problem solving, for example applied learning activities that engage communities
