CLINICAL FACULTY, CYBERSECURITY
New York University School of Professional Studies
Center for Global Affairs

The NYU School of Professional Studies seeks clinical faculty (open rank) of Cybersecurity for the Center of Global Affairs, effective Fall 2024. (The rank of the position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.)

The Center of Global Affairs is actively seeking candidates who are distinguished academics and/or professionals with exemplary experience in international cybersecurity, and have the ability to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: cybersecurity, cyber conflict, cyber statecraft, or cybercrime.

Reporting to the Associate Dean of the Center for Global Affairs, the successful candidate will work closely with the Academic Director to implement the vision for expanding the Center for Global Affairs’ programs and initiatives, and to increase Center for Global Affairs’ profile and visibility locally, nationally and internationally.

The successful candidate will teach within the Master of Science in Global Security, Conflict, and Cybercrime (MSGSCC) program. The MSGSCC is a STEM-designated degree that provides a unique perspective and a competitive advantage by focusing on cyber conflict through the lens of the social sciences. It sees cybersecurity as a component of a transdisciplinary approach to global affairs. The successful candidate may also teach within corporate & executive education programs; develop courses; advise students; collaborate with other faculty and industry partners; and engage with the broader NYUSPS academic community, as appropriate. Additionally, ideal candidates will have experience with cybersecurity, in a policy, industry, technical, or advocacy setting. Faculty members should have experience working with a diverse base of professionals and teaching a diverse population of students. This full-time position is a nine-month appointment with a two-year renewable faculty contract.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $135,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will (i) hold an advanced degree (terminal in their field or discipline), preferably in cybersecurity, international relations, global affairs, law, criminal justice, computer science, or science, technology, and society studies; (ii) have a significant industry or academic track record; (iii) have at least three years of academic experience and effectiveness in higher education, (iv) have experience working with or teaching diverse student populations. Candidates should provide evidence of initiative in curricular development, demonstrate an ability or potential ability to engage in meaningful service or administrative work, and supply evidence of promise in scholarly work.
