Job Description

 

The Larson Institute, within the School of Public Health at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for a Director. This position will be working in person on campus.

 

The Director for the Larson Institute (LI) reports directly to the Dean of the School of Public Health (SPH). The Director administers and manages all aspects of LI which includes oversight for all grants/contracts’ scope of work, budgets, and staff. The Director sets priorities for the grant/contract and foundation/fund-raising procurement for LI as well as writing grants, editing grants, and assisting with foundation and fundraising efforts in coordination with the SPH. Finally, the Director serves as the lead public representative of LI to the University of Nevada (University) and with local, state, and federal officials, stakeholders, policy makers, and funders.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Master’s Degree and three (3) years of related professional work experience OR a PhD Degree or related terminal degree and one (1) year of related professional work experience. Related Experience: Documented experience in: developing, creating, and managing large grant/contract funded projects; providing budget oversite for large budgets; providing leadership and management of staff; and creating effective relationships with community partners and funders/donors or a related field.

• Current Nevada driver’s license
