Lecturer in German

The Modern Languages program in the Department of Humanities at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in German (instructional track faculty position), to begin Fall 2022. This position will be responsible for teaching German language, literature, and culture courses. Participate in the Humanities Modern Languages Committee. Develop courses and curriculum materials for the Minor in German. Advise students. Develop coursework in business and technical German. Cultivate cultural experiences for students through local activities and our study-abroad program.

Minimum Master’s degree in German Language or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.

At least two (2) years of experience teaching beginning through intermediate German language classes at the college level.

Demonstrated excellence in teaching and language-learning pedagogy.

Ability to teach courses in German culture in translation.
