The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business invites applicants for a Lecturer (3-year renewable term) or Senior Lecturer (5-year renewable term) position in our Management & Organizations area, intended for placement in the Nolan School of Hotel Administration, with an intended start date of July 1, 2023. The position will be based in Ithaca, NY.

Responsibilities of the position include teaching responsibilities in the Nolan School of Hotel administration, and service to the Area, School and/or College. It is also expected that our faculty teach across multiple schools within the College of Business.

The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree, preferably a Ph.D., in the field of management, organizational behavior, or related. The teaching workload will include courses in general management, organizational behavior, leadership, ethics, and managing professional relationships. Prior experience and evidence of high-quality teaching the aforementioned topics at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels is required. Additionally, while a background in the hospitality industry is not necessary, it is expected that the candidate, over time, will align their professional expertise and research interests with the hospitality industry, broadly defined.

The Cornell SC Johnson College of Business (established on July 1, 2016) combines three Schools: the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management (Johnson), the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management (Dyson), and the Nolan School of Hotel Administration (Nolan). The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University is the top-ranked hospitality management program worldwide, with undergraduate, masters, and Ph.D. programs. The School of Hotel Administration (SHA) has approximately 800 undergraduates and 60 graduate students. Founded in 1922, SHA is an AACSB accredited business school, with a resident faculty of 65 and over 10,000 alumni worldwide. Important resources available to faculty include extraordinary access to industry leaders, excellent research funding, the Center for Hospitality Research (CHR), and the cultural and intellectual resources of the Cornell University community.
