Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

A master’s degree from a regionally-accredited institution of higher education in accounting or a related field.

Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the subject area to be taught.

Proficiency in oral and written communication in the language in which assigned courses will be taught.

Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff.

Ability to work collaboratively with industry partners to develop academic programs to meet industry needs.

Belief in, and concern for, community service.

High ethical and moral character.

Willingness to teach in a variety of instructional delivery modes, including the use of instructional technologies and online learning management systems.

Commitment to diversity.

Commitment to meeting students’ learning needs and empowering students in their learning endeavors.

Personal and educational philosophy compatible with the goals, objectives, and mission of Central Ohio Technical College.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or CMA designation and recent industry experience.

Previous teaching experience and experience with curriculum development and assessment.

Summary of Duties:

This position will begin Autumn 2024 academic semester.

Faculty position description per the “Agreement Between the Central Ohio Technical College and the United Faculty/Central Ohio Technical College, AFT/OFT.”

The faculty member is responsible for providing professional, quality work as a teaching faculty member. Work includes facilitating student learning by conducting and teaching accounting courses at the undergraduate level; using active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course; assessing student learning; and providing academic assistance to students as needed.
