Job Description

The Faculty of Management and the Department of Information Science invite applications for a limited term appointment of up to three years in the Faculty of Management at the rank of instructor or senior instructor commencing July 1, 2023.

 

The successful candidate will lead plans to develop the Major in Managing Data and Information in the Bachelor of Management program, as well as assist in the development of the Minor in Digital Citizenship. The successful candidate will also teach within these programs, and details of relevant courses can be found on the Bachelor of Management website.

 

Required qualifications, experience and skills:

·         Master in Information, library studies, or related degree.

·         Demonstrated research, teaching, or professional experience in the field of Information Science with a focus on at least one key area of social justice, geospatial information systems, accessible design, data and information management, community-led information practice, data security and privacy, and bias in information systems. Knowledge can be demonstrated via a record of publication, professional experience, and relevant community experience.

·         Established record of teaching excellence, preferably at the undergraduate level.

·         Demonstrated experience with online teaching and/or pedagogical methods such as experiential learning, student-centered learning, transformative pedagogies, digital pedagogy, and online dialogue.

·         Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team

 

Preferred qualifications, experience, and skills:

·         A PhD degree in information studies or a related field completed or in progress.

·         Experience or interest in curriculum development.

·         Professional information management experience will be an asset.
