Wichita State University requires an accomplished leader with a demonstrated track record of visionary leadership and financial acumen to become the next Executive Vice President and Provost.  In addition to being a highly collaborative, results-focused, outward facing academic leader, the ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for both faculty and students alike, balancing the needs across campus in an equitable and effective manner.

The Executive Vice President and Provost will report directly to the President and must possess the leadership strength and skills to work with deans, faculty and staff in shaping an urban public research university that is student centered and innovation driven.  The Executive Vice President and Provost will lead the university’s efforts to become the model for meaningful applied learning across all disciplines and professions.  The Executive Vice President and Provost will work closely with faculty, staff and other members of the President’s Executive Team to promote the university’s three priorities: 1) improve access to education, 2) produce talent that meets business needs, and 3) increase the economic prosperity of the Wichita community.

Reporting to the President, this position has a broad scope of responsibilities with the following direct reports: Associate Vice President Academic Administration & Outreach; Associate Vice President Strategic Enrollment Management; Chief Data Officer; Vice President Strategic Engagement & Planning; Research; Vice President, Chief Diversity Officer and Director of Military and Veteran Programs; Vice President Student Affairs; Dean of Business; Dean of Applied Studies; Dean of Engineering; Dean of Fine Arts; Dean of Graduate School; Dean of Honors College; Dean of Innovation & Design; Dean of Health Professions; Dean of Fairmount College of Arts & Sciences; Dean of Libraries; The Ulrich Museum; KMUW Radio Station; Office of Workforce, Professional & Community Education; and the Regional Institute on Aging.

Minimum Requirements

An earned doctorate or other appropriate terminal degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
Ten years of significant administrative and leadership experience, preferably in higher education.
Must be eligible for tenure at the full professor level within an academic department at Wichita State University.
