The instructor position will teach nursing theory, skills practice lab and supervise students in laboratory experiences on and off campus primarily in the RN to BSN program. Clinical experiences may be held on medical, surgical and ambulatory units of local hospitals, in long-term care facilities or in community agencies. Faculty may also opt to supervise students once a year at Eastern State Hospital. The teaching assignments will vary and will include sharing responsibilities for the nursing courses in the ADN and BSN programs. A portion of the clinical teaching may occur in the late afternoon or evening hours in off-campus locations. Additional responsibilities of the position include curriculum and nursing program education policy development implementation and evaluation; scheduled office hours; participation in department/division meetings, college committees and task groups; assessment of learning outcomes; advising of students for degree and career success; and other related duties as assigned by the administration.
• Facilitate learning across the spectrum of WVC’s nursing curriculum.
• Provide learning activities and appropriate evaluation of student progress toward attaining the learning outcomes and abilities set forth in established course outlines.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and administration.
• Effectively apply current, quality teaching and learning processes and principles.
• Maintain and submit appropriate individual student records as required.

• Master’s degree in nursing. (candidates in the process of completing their master’s will be considered).
• Professional unencumbered license as a registered nurse in Washington state or ability to obtain license.
• Evidence of current clinical skills in medical-surgical nursing.
• Documented successful teaching experience.
• Doctorate in Nursing.
• Experience using computer applications for instructional purposes and clinical documentation.
• Post-secondary vocational certificate or professional nursing certificate which, along with training, will qualify for a vocational certificate.
• Experienced in e-learning modes, including pure online delivery, hybrid and telecourses, and enhancing traditional classes with interactive television, multimedia presentations, and Internet resources.
• Experience/coursework in curriculum development.
• Successful post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in a community college setting.
• Ability to function effectively in a variety of healthcare settings.
• Experience creating digital content (such as Word/PDF documents, and web and learning management system content, as appropriate to the role) in accessible formats.
• Ability to function in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural environment.
• Demonstrate a passion for teaching and the nursing profession.

Terms of Employment:
This is full-time, tenure track faculty position contracted on an annual basis. The salary for the position is determined by placement on the Wenatchee Valley College full-time faculty schedule (currently $66,613 to $78,264). Additional days for summer are paid through a separate contract. Summer employment is required. Class assignments may include day, evening and distance courses. This position is scheduled to begin fall quarter (September) 2024. Additional nurse educator stipends are currently available.

This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by the Association for Higher Education. Faculty workload, compensation and job expectations are defined by a contract negotiated between the faculty union and the WVC Board of Trustees.
