Job Description
Academic Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
The Upstate Medical University Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Syracuse New York is seeking a BC/BE orthopedic trauma surgeon.
All qualified candidates must have completed an orthopedic surgery residency and orthopedic trauma fellowship. In addition to clinical practice, participation in education and research is expected. American Board of Orthopedic Surgery certification or current American Board of Orthopedic Surgery Board Eligibility is a requirement.
Inpatient practice would be at the Upstate Medical University Hospital system, the only level I trauma center in the region. Access to functional testing and basic research facilities at the University’s Institute for Human Performance is available. The outpatient clinical practice would be at the Upstate Bone & Joint Center. This facility offers patients comprehensive musculoskeletal care at one location including an outpatient surgery center and a full line of imaging services. The Center has a unique service delivery model integrating clinical practice, teaching, and research, focusing on a single specialty concept. It provides a single destination to simplify the orthopedic needs of patients through a multi-disciplinary collaborative team approach while servicing a 15-county region.
