Desktop Support Engineer – 102010

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the maintenance, security, improvement, and operational support of the Florida SBDC State Office’s technology infrastructure, and for enabling effective, efficient, and innovative use of that technology.

 

Specific duties include:

·       Research, specify, acquire, configure, and install IT hardware and software.

·       Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure including wired and wireless networks, servers and shared network resources, printers, and cloud-based services.

·       Investigate and resolve problems and malfunctions. Conduct proactive preventative maintenance.

·       Maintain accurate inventory and maintenance records for IT equipment and infrastructure. Maintain Appropriate levels of spare parts and consumables.

·       Assist FSBDC State Office staff with safe, effective, and productive use of information technology.

 

This position is responsible for the maintenance, security, improvement, and operational support of Florida SBDC Network information systems and programs.

 

Specific duties include:

·       Assist in the maintenance, improvement, and operational support of the Network’s technology infrastructure, and for enabling effective, efficient, and innovative use of that technology.

·       Assist in the development of policies to ensure security of the Network’s information.

·       Assist in the development and implementation of the Network’s cybersecurity for small business

·       initiatives and serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the Network.

·       Assist with the development and deployment of new features of the CRM system.

·       Troubleshoot CRM issues by working with technical staff throughout the State.

·       Monitor and maintain data backup solutions and other third-party integrations.

 

This position is responsible for the technical maintenance of multiple WordPress websites.

 

Specific duties include:

·       Ensuring all relevant updates and patches are applied in a timely manner.

·       Monitoring of CVEs for relevant issues and performing any necessary mitigations.

·       Advising Florida SBDC State Office marketing staff on technical matters when required.

·       Serving as technical point of contact for any vendors contracted to design, redesign, or enhance websites owned by Florida SBDC.

 

This position is responsible for administration, maintenance, and enhancement of the Florida SBDC Network’s Mobile Assistance Centers.

 

Specific duties include:

·       Regularly check that electrical and information systems are functioning when the vehicles are not deployed.

·       Ensure intermittently-used computer and network systems have all relevant updates and patches applied and are functioning properly at regular intervals.

·       Assist with pre-deployment systems checks and repairs.

 

Position Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) and 5+ years of related experience or 10+ years of

·       related experience.

·       Proficiency with wired and wireless network technology and standard IP network principles and protocols.

·       Proficiency with Relational Databases and Structured Query Language

·       Proficiency with support of Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems, including software deployment, system administration, and security management.

·       Proficiency with hardware support including workstation, tablet, network, and audiovisual technologies.

·       Familiarity with the administration and support of Google Workspace.

·       Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies and stay current on technological advances.

·       Ability to effectively work on multiple concurrent issues and projects in a collaborative team environment.

·       Strong communication, organization, diplomacy, and collaboration skills.

·       Excellent analytical, time management, and prioritization skills.

·       Appropriate certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, MCTS, etc.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) and 10 years of related experience or 15+ years of

·       related experience.

·       Proficiency with wired and wireless network technology and standard IP network principles and protocols.

·       Proficiency with Relational Databases and Structured Query Languages

·       Proficiency with CRM and/or ERP systems.

·       Proficiency with support of Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems, including software deployment, system administration, and security management.

·       Proficiency with hardware support including workstation, tablet, network, and audiovisual technologies.

·       Proficiency with MS Powershell and other scripting languages.

·       Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Google Admin, JAMF.

·       Familiarity with RiseVision or similar cloud-based digital signage management systems.

·       Familiarity with the administration and support of Google Workspace.

·       Familiarity with the administration and support of Microsoft 365.

·       Experience with supporting telecommunications and computing resources that are deployed or located off-grid in support of Florida SBDC Network’s disaster recovery efforts across the state.

·       Demonstrated ability to research and learn new technologies and stay current on technological advances.

·       Ability to effectively work on multiple concurrent issues and projects in a collaborative team environment.

·       Strong communication, organization, diplomacy, and collaboration skills.

·       Excellent analytical, time management, and prioritization skills.

·       Appropriate certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MCSA, MCTS, etc.

 

Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000
