Mechanicsburg Child Welfare Training Programs – Pennsylvania-Mechanicsburg – (21008918)

The Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center (Resource Center) in the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh is currently seeking a qualified Quality Improvement Specialist. The Resource Center provides a continuum of services designed to facilitate and sustain positive change in the child welfare system. The Quality Improvement Specialist will:
– Support and lead efforts to improve and strengthen child, family, and system outcomes through a continuous quality improvement framework
– Be responsible for collaborating in the coordination and implementation of Pennsylvania’s Quality Service Reviews (QSRs), Child and Family Service Reviews (CFSRs), PA Child Welfare Council, and the Child and Family Service Plan (CFSP)/Annual Program and Service Report (APSR)
– Support statewide Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) efforts through work with the PA Department of Human Services (DHS), counties, and other stakeholders across the state
– Function as a team member of the Statewide Quality Improvement Department for the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center.

Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience or a Master’s Degree required; in Social Work, Social Services, Public Health, Organizational Development, or Adult Education. Of that 10 years, minimum of five years’ experience in child welfare and/or related human service field required.

A combination of equivalent experience and education will be considered for University guidelines.

Knowledge of the Pennsylvania Child Welfare Practice Standards and public child welfare practice is preferred.

Must be able to travel long distances on a frequent basis, lift up to 30 pounds, set up and prepare audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations, and stand for up to 6 hours.

A valid driver’s license is required.

The Child Welfare Resource Center operates in a hybrid work approach where work can be completed remotely, in the Mechanicsburg office, and in the field as necessary and appropriate. Time for this position is estimated as 80% remote work, 10% in the Mechanicsburg office, and 10% in the field. Typical field travel required will be statewide throughout the Commonwealth.
