The University of Pikeville (UPIKE) is seeking applicants for a full-time, nine-month faculty appointment in the field of health and human performance starting August 2023. Rank and salary will be based on qualifications. Preference will be given to candidates who have a demonstrated commitment to, and will take an active role in, enhancing diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual to lead a new academic major. The evolving curriculum includes defined foundational courses and leaves areas/s of specialization open for further development. The successful hire will have a degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biomechanics, or a similar discipline.

Education/Skill Requirements:

  • Ph.D. is preferred; candidates with doctorates in closely related fields, ABD status and within one year of completion, or with master’s degrees and significant teaching experience will be considered.
  • In the application, candidates should address their approaches to/experiences with teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and their demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence.
