Duties & Responsibilities
The University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a faculty director to lead a practice-based research network (PBRN) of over 90 sites throughout North and South Dakota focused on American Indian and rural health issues. This position is suitable for someone who is interested in working collaboratively with health care partners across the state and in tribal communities.
Applicants are expected to have clinical and administrative experience in a health care related field as demonstrated by authored products, such as peer-reviewed publications or other accomplishments.
Lead a practice-based research network by collaborating with health care partners across North and South Dakota and within tribal communities.
Effectively engage and communicate with American Indian community partners.
Support practice-based research.
Develop and maintain positive and supportive relationships with all partners and potential partners.
Coordinate research activities.
Act as a liaison to health care partners.
Conduct scholarly activities within discipline.
Teach health sciences students to achieve educational objectives.
This is a twelve (12) month, non-tenure track, special appointment which offers competitive salary, commensurate with applicant’s previous experience. This position will be within a department to be determined depending upon the qualified applicant’s credentials and interests.

Minimum Requirements
Terminal degree in health care related field
Demonstrated work history of successful relationship building skills (e.g. Project Management)
At least two years’ administrative experience helping to build or lead a complex organization
Evidence of independent scholarly activity
At least two years’ experience working with American Indian populations
Successful completion of criminal history records check.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
MD/DO/PhD or other doctorate
Clinical trials experience
Proven ability to build relationships with partners (e.g. Contracting/Networking across organizations/institutions)
Ability to lead and manage both independent and team projects
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Demonstrated proficiency in scientific writing
At least two years’ experience in initiatives that address American Indian issues
