Job Description
The Honors College at the University of Nevada, Reno, invites applications for the position of Lecturer (non-tenure track) with an anticipated start date of June 2023. As honors is an interdisciplinary field, we welcome candidates from any disciplinary background. In addition to teaching honors seminars and mentoring honors students, the successful candidate will also work with relevant university personnel to develop the UNR Honors College’s inaugural pre-college program. This position will be 60% teaching and 40% administrative. This is a 12-month non-tenure track position with the possibility of continued renewals, promotion, and advancement. The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for teaching rigorous, discussion-based undergraduate honors seminars, including the first-year honors experience course, the Global Perspectives honors course that will, over time, meet the university’s https://catalog.unr.edu/content.php?catoid=50&navoid=73919, and upper division interdisciplinary seminars of the candidate’s own design, as well as mentoring honors students in research, service learning, global initiatives, and/or community engagement. The successful candidate for this position is also expected to work with relevant university personnel to develop honors curriculum and mentor a team of concurrent enrollment high school teachers

Required Qualifications
Advanced degree, such as a Masters, and at least 3 years’ experience in some combination of seminar teaching, honors pedagogy, and curriculum development, ideally with college and high school students.
Preferred Qualifications
A terminal degree, such as a PhD or an EdD; experience teaching and mentoring both high school and college students; experience with curriculum development; experience with faculty mentoring.
