The School of Business, within the College of Applied and Social Sciences at the University of Mount Union invites applications for a full-time faculty colleague to teach in the Sport Business discipline beginning August 1, 2023. Faculty rank will be commensurate with academic qualifications and experience. This is a non-tenure track position.

The School of Business at the University of Mount Union is comprised of undergraduate majors in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Human Resources Management, Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Risk Management and Insurance, and Sport Business. Additionally, it offers minors in accounting, business administration, economics, entrepreneurship, leadership studies, and sport business. The School of Business offers a breadth of knowledge and career specific study through a robust curriculum and experiential learning opportunities. Undergraduate programs currently offered in the School of Business are accredited through the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners and the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA). The School also offers an online MBA program with concentrations in Leadership and Innovation and Business Analytics.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include teaching in a variety of undergraduate courses in Sport Business. Specifically, sport marketing/public relations, sport analytics, and sport sales, are preferred. The candidate will be expected to serve as an advisor and mentor for undergraduate majors and support students in research. Additionally, the successful candidate will engage in professional development, scholarly activity, and service activities for the School of Business, the College of Applied and Social Sciences (CASS), the University, and the community.

Qualifications

A masters in Sport Management or closely related discipline is required. We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. College/University teaching experience in the sport business disciplines is desired. Preference will be given to individuals with previous experience in sport industry.
