Job Description

The School of Information Science & Learning Technologies (SISLT), Missouri’s iSchool, seeks a candidate for a position that focuses on teaching and course design for online graduate programs in Learning Technology and Design (LTD), and program coordination for some LTD programs. This non-tenure track (NTT) position is housed at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Position responsibilities include:

Teaching (60%). The successful candidate will teach the equivalent of five to six courses per year in an online format. These courses will include graduate-level courses in learning technologies, our undergraduate course on using learning technologies in K-12 classrooms (required by all teacher preparation students) and may also include courses in SISLT’s Bachelor of Educational Studies program and doctoral committee service.  The candidate will advise students in the master’s of learning technology and design.
LT Program Work (20%)   The successful candidate will work closely with the Program Coordinator for the Masters in Learning Design and Technology to coordinate the Online the Online Educator emphasis area of the masters, the graduate certificate in Online Education, and the SISLT emphasis area of the Bachelor of Educational studies.  These coordination responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, overseeing student admissions in these programs, monitoring program enrollment in these areas, implementing recruitment activities for these programs, working with the teacher education program in the college to maintain currency and appropriateness of the required technology integration course in the teacher education program, and liaising with other program coordinators in SISLT and the College of Education.
Service (20%). Professional, department, college, and university service is expected of this position. Service roles will ideally support teaching and program coordination roles.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate in Learning Technologies, Instructional Technology or Design and or related fields
Experience using technology in innovative ways to support learning.
Experience designing and / or teaching online courses.
Highly desirable

·      K-12 teaching experience

Demonstrated knowledge, skills, ability, and/or interest in working collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituents
Demonstrated knowledge, skills, ability, and/or interest in promoting values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, administration, and service
Willingness to stay current on, try out and help to integrate new learning technologies into our curricula.
Willingness, ability, and/or experience teaching graduate-level courses in an online or hybrid environment
Willingness and ability to advise and provide instructional and practicum supervision to a diverse graduate student body
Teaching abilities in two or more of the following areas: innovative and effective ways to  use technology in K-12 settings; instructional design methods, formative and summative evaluation, learning analytics, using technology to support learning assessment, designing and teaching online courses.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
