Job Summary
The Director of Recruiting will develop, enhance, and lead strategies to build a pipeline of learners interested in the credit-bearing educational portfolio of Gies Graduate Programs. This portfolio consists of online and residential degree and non-degree credentials, including campus graduate certificates. Areas of focus will include developing, managing, and creating new relationships with enterprise partners, educational intermediaries, and educational institutions to expand the reach of Gies. The Director will have responsibility for top-of-funnel marketing efforts for all graduate programs, including serving as the primary lead for collaboration with Gies Marketing & Communications (MarCom), Illinois Online Marketing, and Coursera Marketing. The Director will lead and supervise a high-performing, mission-driven team of recruiting personnel to drive prospective learners through the recruiting cycle.Duties & Responsibilities

Recruiting

Develop, manage, and execute a strategy to build a pipeline of learners interested in credit-bearing content and credentials across the Gies graduate portfolio
Primary responsibility for top of funnel marketing efforts for all Gies graduate programs, ensuring collaboration across online and residential graduate programs
Provide onboarding, training, supervision, and support to the recruiting team while managing and evaluating the team’s workload to guarantee optimal recruitment activity
Serve as lead for collaborating with Gies MarCom on top-of-funnel marketing efforts including advertisement channels, in-person and online outreach, and recruitment events
Lead coordination efforts with Gies online and residential graduate recruiting and admissions leadership teams to ensure that a learner-first focus is adopted in recruiting degree and non-degree learners to the Gies graduate portfolio
Work with Gies online and residential graduate recruiting and admissions teams to ensure potential learners enter the appropriate pipeline(s) based on their educational objectives
Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Gies Graduate Programs, Gies graduate recruiting and admissions leads, and the Gies data analytics team to set annual enrollment targets and develop, enhance, and implement strategies to meet these targets. In conjunction with graduate programs leadership, monitor and adjust outreach strategies as needed to help achieve enrollment goals.
Manage key partner relationships with the Coursera Marketing team to further establish and execute a shared strategy to attract new learners and build a pipeline of lifelong learners
Coordinate all marketing and recruitment plans with other external partners where appropriate
Domestic and international travel required
Prospect Engagement

Coordinate with Gies corporate relations team to identify and develop potential enterprise and educational intermediary partners to bring learners to Gies
Build and maintain new relationships with enterprise partners through strategic outreach, in-person and virtual presentations, and hosting recruitment events
Deliver internal and external presentations promoting Gies graduate programs with potential and current partners
Develop and nurture diversity-focused recruiting efforts and partnerships designed to improve program admissions and learner engagement for underserved populations
Engage with prospective learners and create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive environment
Explore innovative approaches to enhance prospect engagement including technology platforms
Strategic Priorities and Educational Partnerships

Actively participate in and lead select strategic projects as identified by the Associate Dean of Graduate Programs
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:
Required: 5+ years of business development, marketing, or recruiting experience

Preferred Qualifications

Education:
Preferred: Master’s degree

Experience:
Preferred: 5 years of experience in a large university; experience working with Coursera or a similar online course platform; experience in both academic and corporate environments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required: Excellent communication and writing skills are vital to communicate effectively with diverse groups of faculty, prospective learners, corporate executives, government officials, university staff, and program directors. Good decision-making skills, organizational and project management skills, and computer and analytical skills. Must exhibit a spirit of collaboration and enthusiasm, and have a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 3/24/2023. Salary is commensurate with experience.

The work location for this position may be flexible. Highly qualified candidates may be eligible to work full-time remotely within the US, on-premise at our offices in Champaign, Illinois, or a combination.
