Mental Health In-Residence Faculty Position

The Department of Community Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health seeks to fill an In-Residence, full-time faculty position in mental health. Scholarly emphasis of the applicant should be on practice, policies, and programs that impact community and population health. Our multidisciplinary faculty has a strong history of and ongoing research programs in both domestic and global contexts, as well as multiple graduate education programs (MPH, MSPH, PhD programs).
Candidates at all levels are encouraged to apply; however, applicants at the Assistant Professor level are preferred. Substantive specialty must be in mental health, with research conducted at the community, policy, and/or programmatic level. Priority research areas for this Mental Health faculty position include but are not limited to: community-based participatory research and interventions, public health practice, and research focused on aging, climate change, or disasters.
This Mental Health faculty position is an In-Residence position that includes funding for 50% of the 9-month academic year salary. Additional salary support is available for the first two years of the position (i.e., equivalent to approximately 100% of Assistant Professor academic year salary). Candidates must have a doctoral degree in public health, social and behavioral sciences, or related disciplines and must demonstrate: (1) independent research and peer-reviewed publications in areas central to mental health, (2) potential for success or documented success in obtaining extramural funding, (3) interdisciplinary research collaborations, and (4) a commitment to teaching.
