Assistant – $233,000-$351,000
Associate – $261,000-$383,000
Full – $282,000-$400,000
This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation plan

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep, at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for two full-time faculty member(s) in the Clinical X or Health Sciences Clinical Professor series at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in Interventional Pulmonology . Faculty in the Clinical X series are expected to engage in professional competence and activity, teaching, research and creative work, and University/public service. Faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series are expected to engage in teaching, professional competence and activity, scholarly or creative activities, and University/public service.
Candidates can expect to practice in a stimulating academic environment and teach trainees at multiple levels on the inpatient pulmonary consult service, at the Sacramento Veteran’s Administration hospital, and in outpatient pulmonary clinics. Candidates may also attend in the medical intensive care unit, critical care consult service, and in the cardiothoracic intensive care units.

QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)Candidates must possess an M.D./D.O. degree
Must have proven skills relevant to the practice of pulmonary and critical care medicine as well as interest and experience in clinical research particularly in the area of interventional pulmonology.
Comprehensive training in all aspects of interventional bronchoscopy including rigid bronchoscopy, electrocautery, laser bronchoscopy, all types of endobronchial stent placement and endobronchial valve therapy.
The candidate must be trained in pleural disease techniques including chest tube placement, chest tube thoracostomy, pleuroscopy, pleural ultrasound, and tunneled pleural catheters.
The candidate should also be proficient in diagnostic techniques such as endobronchial ultrasound and navigational bronchoscopy or robotic bronchoscopy.
Additional training in percutaneous tracheostomy and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is also required.
A track record of excellence in clinical care, clinical and procedural teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows is required.
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of patient-based research in interventional pulmonology is desired.
Demonstrated experience working cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)ABIM board eligible or board certified in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine.
Must have completed comprehensive training in Interventional Pulmonology.
Candidates must be eligible for a California medical license.
Preferred qualifications (other preferred, but not required, qualifications for the position)The capacity to obtain external grant funding for programmatic activities is preferred.
