The William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas is searching for talented and engaged professors to join us for the 2023-2024 academic year.  We have three exciting opportunities for full-time, tenure-track positions to begin August 18, 2023. Two of these positions are supported by new grants that also will expand our research enterprise.

Media and Content Production: The successful candidate will engage with students to understand and produce media in one or more of our four concentrations: Digital Marketing Communications, Advertising and Public Relations; Media Arts and Production; Multimedia Journalism; and Sports Media. Media and Cybersecurity:  KU is investing in an interdisciplinary team on cybersecurity.  Applicants should have research productivity and teaching expertise in one or more of the following areas: disinformation, information security, computational social science, data journalism, information norms and practices, social media analytics, and communication technology. Media and Latin American Studies:  This position was created as part of a successful National Resource Center grant. The position will have a courtesy appointment with KU’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and help plan an international conference on media in that region. Applicants that demonstrate teaching, research, or creativity expertise in one or more of the following areas are strongly encouraged to apply: international communication, media writing, content creation, visual communication, and media management.
