Our faculty maintain an active research and publications profile; policy work and public engagement are also encouraged. Faculty normally teach four graduate courses per year in economics of education, including core methodological and/or foundational courses as well as substantive courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise. As a small program, all faculty advise masters and doctoral students, and participate in program administration and leadership activities. Faculty work collegially with students and faculty from EPSA, TC, and the broader Columbia community to build upon common research and intellectual interests.

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned doctorate in economics, public policy, or a closely related field with a demonstrated concentration in economics of education; evidence of scholarly accomplishments and likelihood of future productivity; promise or history of external research support. Demonstrated research background and/or policy involvement in education, ability to communicate across disciplinary boundaries and outside academe, and a demonstrated commitment to broadening diversity within the field will also be considered in the review process.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants who have experience working with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in these areas.
