The School of Nursing at Stony Brook University invites/seeks applications for a 0.6 faculty position to teach in the Graduate program. Candidates with recent practice experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Primary Care or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care, and who demonstrate mastery in clinical care to enhance curriculum delivery and development in the Nurse Practitioner are encouraged to apply. Prior experience precepting nurse practitioner students and/or upper division teaching experience is preferred.
As a Clinical Instructor/Clinical Assistant/Clinical Associate Professor, you are expected to contribute to the educational, research, clinical and community service mission of the School of Nursing. The school of nursing clinical faculty are leaders in the implementation of innovative student-centered teaching and learning strategies for the development of strong clinical reasoning skills in graduates. Candidates who excel in the delivery of online and hybrid teaching formats are strongly encouraged to apply.
All candidates should be prepared to pursue the Scholarship of Teaching in the development of critically reflective knowledge about teaching and learning. Such an approach emphasizes the development, testing, and dissemination of advances in both pedagogy and andragogy. Candidates at the Clinical Assistant/Clinical Associate Professor level are also expected to contribute to the tripartite mission of a major research intensive university by contributing to the research and/or practice/service mission of the university. This position may provide/allows options to continue to engage in clinical practice opportunities.
All candidates should be prepared to mentor students as future nurse leaders, be committed to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion, and foster collaborative interdisciplinary learning experiences that expand student understanding of patient-centered care.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Doctoral Degree (Earned or In Progress)
• Pediatric Primary Care (CPNP-PC) or Pediatric Acute Care (CPNP-AC) Certification
• Valid NY State Professional Nurse License
• Recent Nurse Practitioner Experience in Pediatric Primary Care or Pediatric Acute Care
Preferred Qualifications:
• Upper division teaching experience
• Experience Precepting Nurse Practitioner Students
