Scripps College, a women’s liberal arts college with a strong interdisciplinary tradition, invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor in Politics for the 2023-2024 academic year, with the possibility of renewal for one additional year.
The teaching load is five courses per year. The candidate will teach Introduction to Global Politics and three elective courses in areas of their expertise and interest, with a one-course equivalent covered by supervising senior theses.
The department seeks scholarly and teaching expertise in global politics broadly defined, including topics such as the transnational politics of climate, gender, human rights, migration, and poverty. The department embraces interdisciplinary approaches to politics, and candidates trained in adjacent disciplines are welcome. PhD desirable, but not required, at the start of the position.

The salary for this position will range from $59,513 to $66,125 and will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Benefits include health insurance, annual conference attendance funds, and eligibility to apply for research funds.
