Job Description:

The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Behavioral Neuroscience to begin August 2023.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, an ability to maintain a productive research agenda, actively engage in university service, and demonstrate a strong appreciation for the University’s student-centered mission. Preference will be given to candidates who will involve undergraduates in their research, will seek extramural grant funding, and can teach some of the following courses: Introduction to Psychology, Research Methods, Behavioral Neuroscience, Essentials of Neuroscience, Human Neuroscience, and/or Drugs & Behavior, as well as courses in their area of expertise.

The teaching load is 4/4, however, tenure track faculty are automatically eligible for a 4/3 load.

 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. or ABD in Biological Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, or closely related field. Sacred Heart offers many collaborative opportunities in the areas of cognitive, neuroscience, and supports research using both human and small animal research models.

Preferred Qualifications:
College level teaching experience.
