Professor of Practice, School of International Affairs

The https://www.sia.psu.edu/ in University Park invites applications for a Professor of Practice position, which is to begin in the Spring 2024 semester. The person hired will teach two, master’s-level courses in the spring semester and two in the fall, with the expectation that most of the teaching will take place in person. In addition, the Professor of Practice will spend time engaging with students outside of the classroom and serving as a faculty advisor.

The successful candidate will have the professional and educational background necessary to teach courses in international affairs. The ability to teach courses focused on national security and international diplomacy is desirable, but not required.

Applicants should have a decade or more of high-level leadership experience in the private or public sectors outside academia that would provide a unique background and wealth of knowledge that is of particular value when shared with the University’s students and other faculty.

Applications must include a CV, cover letter addressing how the candidate’s work is relevant to the focus of the position, sample publications relevant to the position (if available), and teaching interests.

This position is a benefits-eligible, non-tenure-line academic appointment for one year, with a high likelihood of renewal upon successful review of the incumbent.
