Job Summary:

 

The psychology department in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Marist College invites applications for a tenure track position of Assistant Professor of School Psychology to begin the fall of 2024.

 

The successful candidate will specialize in School Psychology and teach in the undergraduate psychology major and the NASP approved MA School Psychology program, with an emphasis on graduate instruction. Graduate courses are held in the evenings. We seek those with expertise related to school-based consultation and academic/behavioral assessment and intervention. We are particularly interested in candidates who may fulfill the responsibilities of the Field Coordinator role.

 

Applicants should be flexible about teaching assignments. We welcome candidates who will place an emphasis on quality teaching in a small classroom setting and who can expertly integrate relevant sociocultural and diversity content and issues into their teaching. Applicants should be engaged in ongoing research activities and enthusiastic about allowing students to assist them.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

A Doctorate in School Psychology or closely related discipline by fall 2024 is required.

 

Essential Functions:

 

·      Primary responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate instruction with an expectation of competence in the use of instructional technology

·      Responsible for advisement of students

·      Participation in departmental activities

·      Active research agenda

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

College level teaching experience is preferred. State certification as a School Psychologist and NCSP credential are preferred.

·      403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity – Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.

·      Tuition Benefits:

o   Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.

o   College pays 100% tuition only.

o   Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

About the Department/School:

 

The Psychology Department is home to 16 full time faculty as well as several, valued, part-time faculty. The department offers an undergraduate psychology major and minor and supports graduate programs in clinical mental health counseling and school psychology. The department members have expertise in many domains and work together to create a rich curricular experience for students that includes theory, research, and applied fieldwork.
