The position involves collaborating on teams in areas such as aging, behavioral health, cancer, health equity, informatics, immunizations, mental health, pharmacoepidemiology, and social determinants of health, with an emphasis on the use of electronic health record data from health care delivery systems to address research questions. The successful candidate will also support biostatistical methods research to improve the conduct and analysis of data arising from pragmatic trials and complex observational studies.

The Biostatistics Division is comprised of 10 PhD-level biostatistician investigators, 10 MS- or PhD-level collaborative biostatisticians, and 4 University of Washington (UW) biostatistics graduate students with collective expertise in Bayesian methods, causal inference, correlated data, electronic health records data, fairness in machine learning, large scale prediction modeling, pragmatic trial design, spatial statistics, and survival analysis. KPWHRI is part of a vibrant regional research community including the UW, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and Seattle Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center.
Applicants must have an MS or PhD (or equivalent) in Biostatistics or Statistics. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a strong interest in working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and backgrounds are required.
