Position Summary:
The Assistant Director for Assessment will, in conjunction with the Director and University Assessment Services, develop and implement a robust institutional assessment plan related to civic engagement. This staff member will oversee storage and retrieval of assessment data and will create reports about civic engagement for the Center and University.

In general, CCE is responsible for enacting Illinois State’s commitment to civic engagement and fostering a culture that values and rewards civic engagement. This is accomplished through a variety of programs and services with students, faculty, and staff, and in partnership with Bloomington-Normal community organizations. CCE’s work involves volunteering and service-learning, political engagement, and civic education.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Master’s or equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, social work, or related organizational assessment field conferred prior to the position start date.
  2. Three years of work experience with program and institution-level assessment and quality improvement in higher education setting.
  3. Quantitative and qualitative research and assessment skills and a working knowledge of SPSS, Microsoft Excel, Qualtrics, and other common survey software applications.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to equity and diversity and experience contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  5. Strong written and oral communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Experience working with Collaboratory
  2. Experience implementing and analyzing surveys about student engagement/community engagement.
