Primary Position Function/Summary:
Member of a team that partners with Gies faculty to design and conduct in-person, online, and hybrid delivery of high-quality learning experiences. They assist faculty in teaching interactive synchronous online class sessions and are key to enabling outstanding experiences for students. They review synchronous class (Live Session) plans and learning materials, use online meeting technology to manage breakout rooms, polls, files, videos, chat, and coordinate with other staff participating in the session. They contribute to data-gathering and analysis to improve the quality of the learning experience and support growth of online programs. They work in a full-focus environment where attention to detail, planning, quick resolution of support needs, and professionalism are crucial to the success of our faculty and thousands of students in our flagship online programs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
60% Synchronous Class (Live Session) Support
Facilitate and attend synchronous online interactive classes (Live Sessions), webinars, and events
Review weekly plans provided by instructor(s) to prepare for Live Sessions
Prepare, perform quality control, and disseminate weekly Live Session plans and teaching materials, paying special attention to accessibility and universal design
Assist with integration of instructional design principles and various teaching strategies to help faculty enhance online delivery
Maintain Live Session information and related material in course website, event, and project management systems
Support students, faculty, and staff during Live Sessions
Manage and create breakout rooms, polls, files, videos, and chat
Be “on camera” when needed in front of hundreds of students
Coordinate with course assistants and tech support employees
Monitor Live Sessions, flag issues, and provide reports at the completion of every Live Session
Collaborate with faculty, designers, studio personnel, digital media professionals, and course assistants
20% Learning Experience Analysis
Observe Live Sessions, following data-gathering protocols determined by the Teaching and Learning leadership
Gather Live Session performance and student outcome metrics
Log technical and pedagogical issues that occur during Live Sessions
Contribute to data analysis activities to consider means for continuous quality improvement
Participate or collaborate with related research initiatives
15% Training
Train faculty and staff on how to use web-based conferencing technology to effectively conduct live synchronous classes in both studio and remote environments
5% Other
Serve on committees as appropriate

Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Instructional Technology, Customer Experience, or related field.
Experience:
Required: At least one year experience with online web conferencing and collaboration software? troubleshooting basic technical problems (internet connections, cameras, audio).
Preferred: Experience working in higher education or corporate customer service? help desk support
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Required: Strong ability to provide support to customers, clients, or learners. Excellent communication and team skills. Excellent time-management, punctuality, and
attention to detail. Excellent problem solving skills.
Preferred: Knowledge of best practices for conducting and designing trainings, associated tutorials and support documentation. Knowledge of methods for teaching or supporting large scale enrollment courses. Ability to work in instructional settings where accessibility is considered in all phases of the teaching and learning process. Ability to work with remote collaborators. Ability to quickly learn new technical skills. Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced
work environment. Ability to handle stressful situations. Familiarity with business education
SALARY:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
