We are seeking a Manager, Administrative Computing to work remotely with some in-person attendance in the Santa Barbara area on a full-time, 37.5-hour per week basis.
As one of the key members of the Information & Communication Technology team, the Manager, Administrative Computing (MAC) will work closely with several other key department technology leaders to contribute to the current and future design and development of Fielding’s administrative technology infrastructure. The MAC will manage the ongoing development, operation, and maintenance of Fielding’s ERP system and related administrative computing. This includes the scheduling, coordination, staffing, and budget for all of Fielding’s software upgrades, hardware upgrades, programming, and projects that support our ERP software, including Datatel Colleague, WebAdvisor, & ActiveCampus. Additionally, the MAC will serve as the project manager or appoint and supervise the project manager for all technical ERP-related projects, including scheduled major software release upgrades and new software implementations for the above-described systems. In a team-oriented and highly collaborative environment, the MAC will serve as the lead technical resource and perform needs analysis for technology and programming requests to offer solutions and enhancements when needed. This position advises other Fielding leaders in how best to leverage our ERP software to achieve their department’s technology goals and to advance the University’s mission.
The minimum qualifications required to be considered for this position are
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; an advanced degree is preferred
• Five or more years’ experience in project management
• A minimum of two years’ experience managing software developers and system analysts
• A complete understanding of software life cycles
• A working knowledge of administrative systems business processes
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to

• Listen actively, synthesize information, and negotiate fairly to resolve conflict,
• Work effectively in a complex, diverse environment with a minimum of direction.
The ideal candidate will bring three or more years’ experience
• using Datatel Colleague
• in system development/programming experience (Datatel Colleague preferred)
• in web application development
• in the higher education environment
