Department Summary:
Drake University’s College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for a visiting assistant professor in the Kinesiology Program, housed within the Department of Biology.
Drake University’s Kinesiology major is a pre-professional bachelor’s degree for students pursuing physical therapy, medical school (general medicine, sports medicine, physical medicine and rehabilitation [PM&R], orthopedics), athletic training, graduate school programs in exercise science or kinesiology, and careers in strength and conditioning, wellness/health programming, and product design. Job Summary:
We are seeking a colleague with expertise in motor control & learning and/or biomechanics, and who is enthusiastic about teaching and working with undergraduate students.
Teaching responsibilities for the academic year will include Motor Learning & Control, Biomechanics, Sports Nutrition, and may include General/Pre-Professional Biology. The teaching load is 3-3. This is a nine (9) month appointment starting in the fall semester of 2023.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A PhD or equivalent degree in kinesiology, exercise science, or closely related fields. ABD’s close to completion will be considered.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence
For faculty positions, selection will depend on the receipt of recommendation confirming the candidate’s scholarly achievements and teaching abilities and/or on the candidate’s satisfactory passing of a teaching demonstration if selected for an on-campus interview. For staff positions, selection will depend upon careful review of each applicant’s references, education, and, if applicable, experience.
