POSITION TITLE: Assistant Director of Programs & Student Life – Drucker School .

 

SALARY RANGE: $64,480.00-$65,000 ANNUALLY

PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

 

Reporting directly to the Drucker School of Management Assistant Dean, the Assistant Director of Programs & Student Life is responsible for supporting the entire portfolio of Drucker School programs including MBA, Specialized Masters, PhD and academic certificate programs.

 

Because of the small, interwoven nature of the School, the Assistant Director of Programs & Student Life will work closely with staff from student services, recruitment and admissions, marketing, and career services.

 

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

• Support program management of all MBA programs; specialized masters programs including the MA in Arts Management, MA in Leadership, MA in Management, MS in Finance; PhDs; certificates; and other programs as assigned. The Assistant Director will directly manage programs as assigned.

• Collaborates with the Assistant Dean to ensure a positive and valuable student experience from matriculation to graduation including enrollment, student life and advising, travel, events, and retention

• Administer application reviews for new students as assigned.

• Produce data reports to support accreditation and rankings and submit data for GMAC surveys as needed.

• Track student satisfaction and conduct mid-program and exit surveys to ensure continual improvement.

 

• Determine class schedules with the Assistant Dean based on student interest and faculty availability

• Work with the Assistant Dean to identify adjunct and overload faculty and manage those relationships.

• Coordinate with key partners, both domestic and international, to ensure the success of related programs.

• Manage cost center budgets and provide analysis on financial status as requested by the deans; contribute to annual budget review and drafts

• Evaluate market trends to identify opportunities for enhancing programs and launching new programs

• Be familiar with the policies that guide decision-making at Claremont Graduate University

• Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty and staff at the Drucker School and Claremont Graduate University to support the goals of the University and Drucker School

• Be familiar with AACSB standards. Take responsibility for the standards that affect the delivery of education – for example, the assurance of learning standards. Work with the school staff on the reporting of the Drucker School to other standards. Ensure all processes are in place to track performance to these AACSB standards on a regular basis.

• Perform other duties as assigned in support of CGU’s mission

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree; MBA or other graduate management degree preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

 

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years’ experience in professional management in the private, public, or not for profit sectors.

 

LICENSES / CERTIFICATES: N/A

 

OTHER PREFERENCES: Experience working with students in a graduate-level academic institution.

HOURS: The regular hours for this position are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may vary due to needs of the College or department.

 

CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS: This is a (full-time), 12-month (Exempt level) position. Benefits-eligible.
