Job Description
The Philosophy Department at Carnegie Mellon University seeks applications for a 3 year, full-time, non-tenure track special faculty lecturer position beginning in Fall 2023, with the possibility of renewal. AOS: AI ethics, ethics of emerging technology, or bioethics; AOC: normative ethics or political philosophy. The department has particular teaching needs in AI ethics and engineering ethics. The teaching load will be 3 courses per semester, a mixture of large and small classes, both graduate and undergraduate.
A successful applicant will have:
-a PhD in Philosophy conferred by start date;
-Teaching experience as the primary instructor for at least 3 courses;
-Evidence of teaching excellence and innovation.
