Position Overview:
The successful candidates will have expertise in one or more areas related to energy systems, storage and policy. For example, the SSIE School is interested in candidates that explore recent developments in energy storage and apply knowledge of systems modeling, operations optimization, integration with renewables, techno-economic analysis, sustainable materials, and recycling technologies to encourage economic growth and advance the adoption of clean and efficient energy solutions to build a more resilient and sustainable future.
Additionally, the successful candidates can have expertise related to recent developments in the evolving electricity markets. However, qualified applicants in other emerging areas of industrial and systems engineering, such as autonomous systems, advanced/smart manufacturing, biomanufacturing, cyber-physical systems, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and healthcare systems engineering, may be considered.
All positions involve establishing externally funded theoretical and applied research in the respective disciplines and teaching at all levels (undergraduate courses through advanced graduate courses).
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct high-quality research in Energy Systems, Storage and Policy
Teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses
Mentor and advise undergraduate, MS, and PhD students
Secure external funding to support research initiatives
Contribute to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the university and the field
Engage in interdisciplinary collaborations within SSIE and across the university
