Founding Department Chair, Counseling – Tenure Track

 

Baldwin Wallace University seeks a full-time, tenure track, Department Chair/Core Faculty member (starting Fall 2023) to launch a new Clinical Mental Health (CMH) program. The successful candidate will facilitate the curriculum and assessment design of the program and supervise, recruit, and hire remaining core faculty and staff. Responsibilities will also including teaching, advising, and participating in recruitment for incoming students. The first cohort of CMH students is scheduled to begin in Fall 2024; subsequent program expansion into school and/or addiction counseling is planned.

 

We are seeking candidates with a passion for and commitment to the field of CMH counseling. They will join a community of equally committed teacher-scholars who see their role in preparing the next generation of counselors as both a privilege and a tremendous responsibility. The Counseling program will be housed in the College of Education and Health Sciences, joining existing departments of Education, Public Health, Nursing, Physician Assistant, Communication Sciences and Disorders, and Allied Health, Sport and Wellness. Nearly 50 full-time faculty serve more than 525 degree-seeking undergraduate students and approximately 275 graduate students in the College.

 

Professional Qualifications:

 

A PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP accredited institution. Experiences in accreditation, curriculum development, and program assessment. Qualified candidates will have 3+ years of experience teaching, advising, and research experiences at the graduate level and as a licensed clinical practitioner in mental health settings and a CMH counseling license in Ohio (or is eligible for licensure in Ohio). Preferred qualifications include teaching, research, and/or service experiences with undergraduate students, and prior administrative and/or leadership experience.
