Job Description
The Department of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering (SSIE) at Binghamton University’s Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science is expanding further:
Assistant/Associate/Full Professor – Autonomous Systems (1 position)
The Department of Systems Science and Industrial Engineering (SSIE) at Binghamton University’s Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science is expanding further:
Assistant Professor – Advanced Health Systems Engineering (1 position)
The above faculty position would begin in the spring or fall 2023 semesters and involve teaching at all levels from undergraduate courses to advanced graduate courses, and establishing theoretical and applied research in their area of expertise.
The ideal candidate must have (i) an earned doctorate in industrial engineering, systems science or the applied sciences, (ii) excellent leadership skills, and (iii) superb records of research, including garnering funding and scholarly publications. Teaching experience is preferred.
Attracting $8.5-10 million annually in research funding from 2020-2022, our established faculty works collaboratively with over 30 sponsors from industry and federal agencies. At this level of research productivity, the SSIE Department is also ranked the highest on-campus in research expenditures.
The department currently has twenty-nine (29) faculty members and offers a BS degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) and MS and PhD Degrees in both Systems Science (SS) and Industrial and Systems Engineering (or ISE). SSIE also offers a cutting-edge executive health systems program in Manhattan. With about 280 undergraduate, 210 masters, and 180 doctoral students, the department is growing in numbers and in reputation. More details are available at http://www.binghamton.edu/ssie/.
