Job Description

The Biology Department at Berry College invites applications for a full-time Lecturer of Human Anatomy and Physiology to begin in August 2024. We seek a candidates gifted to teach, advise, and mentor students from a variety of majors including biology, kinesiology, and nursing.

The department of 12 faculty are deeply invested in mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds in a comprehensive college with a liberal arts core. The candidate should share our department’s commitment to student engagement inside and outside of the classroom, as well as our desire to promote opportunities for students from under-represented groups.

This position will assist in teaching the two-semester Human Anatomy and Physiology sequence, as well as other courses suited to the candidate’s background. These courses could be (but are not limited to) microbiology, introductory biology or zoology.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. in biology, kinesiology, or a closely related field. An interest in active learning strategies is preferred. Applicants who have not completed their degree at time of application should include documentation that the requirements for the degree will be completed by August 2024.
